Customer Reviews:
Keeps my skin moisturized not GREASY!! (2008-10-22) Rating: 5/5
I bought this lotion a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely LOVE it!!. I'm not too thrilled about the scent, but that wears off after minutes. What I LOVE is that it keeps my skin moisturized for hours! I was using Clinique's Deep Moisture Cream/Lotion and I must say for half the price, I get a better product and my skin remains moisturized longer. I also love how my skin absorbs the lotion quickly leaving my skin soft not GREASY like other lotions/creams. I really LOVE it and I will continue to use it on my extremely dry skin!
Not so natural anymore! OWNED BY CLOROX NOW! (2008-01-06) Rating: 1/5
I love Burt's Bees lip balm, and diaper cream, and lots of their other products, and Burt's Bees USED TO BE a good choice for people trying to make greener choices for themselves and the environment. Not so anymore. Burt's Bees has been bought by CLOROX. Yes, that's right, CLOROX. As usual a decent green company has been sucked up by a major polluter. You can read about it in the New York Times Business section by using your search engine with the terms "Burt's Bees", "Clorox", and "New York Times". Clorox says it wants to learn to be more green. Yeah, sure! They just want a piece of the pie when it comes to taking the money of green conscious consumers. You can bet that they won't be putting the word "Clorox" on the Burt's Bees label! I for one am tired of trying to buy green and ending up padding the wallets of great big polluting corporations. If you want to buy personal products that are better for you and the environment, try using your search engine to search for "Compact for Safe Cosmetics". You will find lists of companies that are the real thing, and not corporate wolves hiding behind a natural label. BYE BYE BURT, WE LOVED YOU!
IT'S NOT THE SAME!! (2007-03-17) Rating: 1/5
The original 7oz.Milk and Honey Body Lotion, as advertised, is not what was sent to me. The lotion, as well as the botttle, are different than advertised. The old formula was non-greasy,was absorbed into the skin quickly and smelled very good. The original was so smooth and grease-free, I could even use a little before playing guitar, if my hand was too dry. The new 8oz.lotion sent to me was greasy, tacky and it seemed to never go away. Do you know how packing grease feels? Yucky is the best way I can describe it. I'll NEVER use it. Making it orange doesn't help either; more yuck! I've been buying up all the old formula I can get my hand on, but eventually I'll have to find another lotion to use. I think it's pretty crappy, but others may love it. Like they say, if it's not broken..... Hey, life goes on.
Feels good but Shoo weee! (2006-12-10) Rating: 3/5
I love the way this product feels on my skin. I have incredibly dry, itchy tight skin and I have senstive skin which limits me to what I can put on it. I was using Aveeno which aleves the itchy tightness but make me feel sticky for DAYS. So I tried this and it works well but I just can't get past the smell. It smells like mud, baby powerder (which I hate) and coconut mixed together and the smell is so strong my mom down stairs can smell me when I wear it. Its just too over powering to wear and makes me have a headache ( I'm incredibly sensitive to perfumes) . Too bad too cause I'd love to love this product!! Its great for your face before you put on makeup though!! Exspecially powerder foundation like I wear!
Absolutely my favorite body lotion (2005-03-06) Rating: 5/5
I went on a Burt's Bee's buying spree just prior to going in for knee surgery (ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair) on Feburary 4, 2005. I had never used any Burt's Bees products before, but was pleasantly surprised by their focus on natural, herbal incredients and recycled packaging (which more companies should do!)
Anyway, I'm only one month post-op and I've nearly used all of the Milk & Honey Body Lotion I purchased prior to surgery. I reach for it anytime my arms, legs or face need moisturizing, or when my mood just needs a little "lift". The scent and texture of the lotion is soothing and invigorating at the same time, and the lotion readily absorbs into the skin within moments without feeling thick, heavy or oily. I have naturally dry skin and particularly during the winter having a good body lotion is a must. I highly recommend this product, as well as many of the other Burt's Bees products I've tried (lip balm, hand cream, nutritive face cream, Res-Q ointment).
